vacuum leak

I just finished putting a set of mac headers on my 98 ls1 z28, but in the process, i discovered a dry-rotted vacuum hose, (that connects to the driver side valve cover from the rear of the engine) and broke it completely off. My question is does anyone think it is ok to drive it like this, as it idles really funny now that its broken off. Just want to know if its safe to drive it to the shop, or if i should have it towed.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff

First off are you LT1man's brother?

Second why do you need a shop to change a vacuum hose?. If it were me I would use someone else's or get a ride to a auto parts store pic up some vacuum hose and snap it on myself. Bring both halfs so you know aprox, length. Good Luck and welcome to the forum.

Yes, I am LT1MAN's brother, also, i can't get my hand back behind the engine to fix it, or even see where its broken at. I tried using a mirror, but the space is just too tight to get into. I just wanted to know if it would be ok to drive it with the vacuum leak, but i guess it is, because i did it. thanks anyways,
Jeff
