Tamiya Pug 206 2003

Hi!
I am ggoing to buy the 206 WRC 2003 model from Tamiya soon. And on the 1999.co.jp site i noticed that this car doesn't have the Marlboro stickers on it.
Do they come with the set, but isn't applied in the instructions because of some rules of smoke advertisement or something? Or don't they come with at all?
I looket at Hiroboy's 206 (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=97896&highlight=Peugeot+206) and noticed the Marlboro stickers. It looks so much better with them. But he bought some extra decals from Studio 27... so...
I look a bit empty without them.

Tamiya never give you the tobacco decals, if you want them you can buy them from after market companies like studio 27. I guess there are rallies where they don't have the tobacco markings on, just like in motoGP (wich is more my back yard...)

And here in Norway it's impossible to get the aftermarket parts if I don't order from Japan, but I'll wait with that untill I get my own Visa. So, I'll live with it...

I need to get money to my Paypal account tough, but I think I can fix that.

I can get my own Visa or credit card in 7 months now, and things will be easyier.

In some countries where the 206 raced tobacco advertising was banned, so the Marlboro markings were replaced by white squares. These are not included in the Tamiya kit but could easily be masked off, which would save you buying the aftermarket decals.

I have also seen that HLJ.com can be payed by Paypal. And the kits there are much cheaper than in Norway.
The Tamiya 206 WRC costs 2400 yens at HLJ, around $23, or 147,- Norwegian kroner.
Here in Norway, the same kit costs around 5714 yen ($55 or 350,- Norwegian kroner). That's too bad.

So I'm thinking about buying the 206 WRC, The Nismo JGTC Z (With Photoetched parts), and some other goodies.

If you order from hlj.com, you should be able to get the Marlboro decals from them too, you may have to search their inventory, but they did have them.

Yeah, i saw them there but they wasn't in stock :( But I'll probably wait before i order.
Anyone know the shipping costs to Europe (Norway)?

The hlj website has shipping costs on the pages where you view your individual item. Under the price it has a shipping cost and a drop down box which lets u know how much p&p is to your country. It's very reasonable from what I can remember.

The cost for shipping a few items isn't the same as adding up each of their postage costs individually. It'll be way cheaper. Once you place your order they will email you back in a few dsays with the total cost. You then have a choice of continuing with the order or cancelling it. Just go for it and if the postage works out too high just cancel the order.

Yeah most rallies are in countries where tobacco advertising is banned. So much so that one wonders what the tobacco companies are getting out of it. Problem with the Tamiya kit is that it doesn't even include the white squares. Which means you can't do a version even close to accurate OOB.

I used the Studio27 decals. It's a shame that Tamiya don't even provide white squares, as technically the colourscheme is correct both with and without Marlboro signage. The tobacco sponsorship was shown in the Peugeot presentation before the event but removed during the rally.
