Sound Systems

I am in the process of finishing up my alpine system with a 12" type R sub and I plan to do a custom enclosure in my hatch. I'm curious...

What do you have in your car to make it sound awesome?
Any tips/pics would be great!

i got the idea from 4g4dstore. i took out my backseat and made a full length two part false floor. one part that covered up where the backseat was and then another part that is the actual sub enclosure under the false floor. they're both hinged together incase i want to take my sub enclosure out. but everything's been carpetted and stuff so you can't see any cracks or hinges or bumps or anything. it took forever to make the enclosure though because there are so many curves and bumps in your spare tire well. oh yea, i took out my spare too.

I like these though (don't mind the messy wires, that was a temp install, it's not even in there anymore. I'm redoing the whole car with monster wire.

cool stuff everyone has, i think i have a bit of a unique idea of how im going to do mine, but it wont be ready until about April or so. thats when the weather turns warm again though, so I'll be able to actually use it!

I was thinking about trying to do a fiberglass enclosure for mine...but i just don't have the time or knowledge to do all that, maybe someday though

I like GTA's, you cant really see it good in this picture, but you get the idea. What a space saver eh?

so i guess most people leave out the stereo on their cars?

I have plenty of stereo in my h/b, however, after my stuff getting jacked once, I'm not eager to show off anymore.

Maybe once I finish my next version of the installation (sometime this spring) I'll post pics. It'll be much more perminent this time :iceslolan

I know where your coming from CZ-R. I would love to get more things going on my car, but you always hafta think "is this just gonna get ripped off." People need to learn some f***ing respect for other peoples property.

Where I live, it seems like people arent even smart enough to know how to steal something efficiently, so sometimes they just vandalize, like a nice scratch i have down the side of my car...

that doesnt even begin to describe my hatred for those people, but thats enough stars for one post, lol.

i think that will pound the hell out of my car, i cant imagine the pain your car will feel with all that beating!!

well right now i'm running those two 12s and a single 10 and its pretty loud. still not tuned properly and not put back to 4 ohms because it overheats the amp but one day i'll fix it and have it sounding better then it does now. i listen to alot of old rock and roll (led zepplin, zz top, aerosmith, G-n-R, etc etc and it sounds great on my system, when i put something with tons of bass it sounds outrageous for a bit untill it cuts out lol

i got my 350rms alpine mono amp off ebay
in 9 days i get to pick up/finish paying for my 12" alpine R sub
then i will be getting some wires and getting it all custom done so that hopefully even if someone decides to break in they wont be able to see my system in my hatch.. so far the design is only in my head tho.. lookin forward to seeing it turn into reality!!

speaking of wiring, what do you recomend? i figured i would go with stinger cuz its gotta be good stuff (price+popularity are pretty high so i figure its good stuff) what about scosche or something tho? is there a big difference? i dont wanna shell out as much on wires as my sub itself! also i would only need 8 guage right?
