67 galaxie problems

Ok, not a mustang but i need some help and nobody ever goes to the galaxie forum so i thought this would be the best place to ask
I have a 2dr 67 galaxie 500 with a 390. I just had the original 2v carb and intake swapped for a 4b edlebrock and high pro intake manifold. He re-jetted the carb and tweaked it as good as he could. He said it was hard to get it perfect because it is so cold here right now. Anyways when i get on the gas hard i here a click and there is a delay like im not even on the gas then it reacts and takes off-my problem is that i am going to race it this spring/summer and that delay will kill me-so what might be the problem? The engine's characteristics have changed due to the intake manifold. I'm assuming that your running an automatic, so you may have to match the stall speed on the torque converter with your desired launch RPMs.

Do you have a line-lock installed?
At what RPMs is the car launching at ( before & after the new manifold )?
