What to look for in a 1990 G60 Corrado

My fiancee and I are looking into buying a 1990 G60 Corrado(we are import fans). We are familiar with the turbo DSM's. However, we are newbies to the VW's. We would like to know what quirks/problems to look for and to consider while checking out this car. It has 102k miles on it, and the engine is stock. Is this a consideration? How many miles can this car/engine hold? When we check the compression, what should the readings be? Also, what kind of problems should we check for in the stock supercharger (it supposably has new gaskets).
Also, what kind of upgrades are available? What are some good websites to check out?
We are traveling about an hour to go see this car, and would like to know as much as possible about it before we make the road trip. So whatever information and insites any of you have are appreciated.
Thank you for your time,
Elly and Heath

These are things i have replaced on my 1990 G60 81000 milles atm
Tranmision Manual
Starter
Alternator
Lots of electrical problems
battery
O2 sensor
wheel bearings
Front Control arm
Temp sensor
Belts
Shift Linkage
Exhaust
Oil presure sensor
hood release cable
Shocks
Total costs to do yourself about $2000 to pay mechanic $5000-7000 easy
Granted any mechanic that inspects the vehical can find most of these preoblems on a test drive be aware at least in the US the car I pretty rare and parts arnt real easy to find plus people want alot to work on them. Also if it has a factory radio be looking to spend an extra $100-200 on the install wiring is crazy on these.
I am a mechanic so best suggestion is be prepared for issues Also btw the motor oil in this car pretty much needs to be ordered by everyone
manufacture says to use 10w-50 or 10w-60
