problem with starting

My dad has a 95 aerostar 130000 miles, i went to start it and it was turning over when i turned the key to stop everything died, it was also around 20 degrees outside. The windows, lights, and other electrical items dont work and nothing happens when i turn the key now. A few days after this i tried to start it and noticed the lights and windows are working but have very little power. Could this be from a dead battery or something else?

What ever was wrong with it is fine now, AAA came and jump started it and it works ok, except that sometimes I have turn turn the lights on to start it.
