No fire when starting on 83 TownCar

I have an 83 TownCar that is not starting. I have replaced the ignition module, the ignition switch, the ignition coil, the plugs and wires. I have power to the coil. When I start the car, I have tested good voltage to the coil, but I have no spark. If I pull the wire from the coil to the distributor and test for power, I receive no power to the wire until I release the key. For that one moment, I see a single spark. I have electronic ignition (no wires go to the distributor). Do I need to replace the ECU (computer), or is something else not telling the coil what to do?

Sounds like the 60's and 70's with a blown ballast resistor :smokin:

I don't have diagnosis experience with the 83.
Try LOL (http://www.lincolnsonline.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=3) if you get no response here.

I do not think it is the ballast resistor, since I am still receiving power to the coil when I am turning the key. I have pulled the ECU, and will most likely replace it. Does anyone know where I can by an 83 lincoln towncar ECU?

Update: I have fixed the problem! I found out that the EEC Relay was fried. Once I replaced the EEC Relay, the car fired up immediately. I found out that I could put back the original crankshaft position sensor and the ECU (computer). I have left the other replaced parts in place.
