Hi,
I am looking at a '96 Custom Regal for my 16 year old daughter. It has 104,000 miles and appears to be a one owner car. It looks like it was well cared for. I found it on a Ford lot, it came in as a trade in. I had a friend test drive it. He spotted a cpouple of problems. The check engibne light is on and the car misfires in low gear...600rpm, however it is fine when it hits 1300 rpm. Does any of this sound like it could be a major problem? The dealer will not investigate either problem since it is an "as is" car that will be wholesaled in a few days if it does not sell. Comments anyone?

Take the car for a test drive and go by an AutoZone they will scan the car for free and tell you the code. Then we can help you.It might be some easy to fix.
Or tell the dealer you are interested in buying it and see if they will at least scan the car for free,it only takes 5 mins if that, to scan it.
