How do I get into the dash on my '99 LX?

(EDITED: Got the radio out, now I have new issues)
Okay, so I pulled the stock head unit to put in my new Sony head. I already wired up the Sony with the Metra wiring harness I bought. But, I have a problem - only one of the connectors from my old radio fits the harness (car-specific part, the one that supplies power - guesstimated because the colors match). I have two mysterious smaller connectors, and a third connector that is most likely ground (since it connected directly to a metal tab on the back of the original head). There is no connector for the part of the wiring harness that my speaker leads are wired to.
So, I have a few questions:
-How do I connect the speaker outputs? Are the speaker leads inside those smaller connectors? Can I cut the smaller connectors and solder my harness straight to them?
-Is the third connector ground? Should I cut the ground lead on my wiring harness and connect it to that third connector?
Thanks!
