I have been playing around all day, and discoverd how similar the insite is to a crx... With the gimp i was messing around and made rough looking conversion.

A: I said it was rough
B: the other person didnt shorten the ass like it should be
C: All i have is the gimp other than that i think it looks way better than insite

Granted it could cost alot of money, but think about it this way, there is alot of ppl who dump 40k+ into a car I don't think it would be much differnt. It's the whole orginality thing. To somthing that has never been done to a car. But for the average tuner it is expensive.

In a couple of years me and some friends plan on making a tuning shop that specializes in honda nissan and toyota, one of the guys specializes in synthetic metarials and compounds. We would have a some major funding behind the shop as well. Hopefully we get to build one up. Probably put a b16 in it.

A couple of things I have noticed with the other mock up the one with the green insite.
It looks like a tiberon, also those rims would never work... They are 5 lug ^^ I'm willing to put money they are 4 lug rims.

Ehhh B series engines are still great engine, and feel far from dated, granted they dont have vtec-i, still they are cheap to get and can produce alot of hp.

anyone know anyone that has swapped an insight motor? or at least cut the back wheel covers?

i doubt a k series will fit. those things are big and the engine compartment in the insight is small. also - alot of custom fab work would be done since k series motors are.."backwards".

ah i'd love to have a nice looking insight just to save gas lol, the thing gets crazy mpg! But why did honda ever put those ugly wheel covers on the back...they're so ugly...if someone could do body mods on that thing it'd be decent looking :)
I'd mod an insight if they weren't so expensive :O i'm sticking with my 4g4d for a long time ^_^

there is an insight running in a lot of big name drag racing competitions. i saw it in a magazine a few days ago. cant remember if it was sport compact car or super street, but its powered by a K-series engine.
and whoever thinks that it takes too much work because the K-series is "backwards" mustnt get out much. because the insight uses a D-series engine, and many companies already make mount kits to put K-series engines into D-series powered cars. theres a place here in louisiana called hybrid racing that makes mount kits.

I'm surprised nobody ever thought of just getting an RSX type-S de-badging it, remove the backseat, and maybe customize the rear hatch to have a vertical window section in the rear... instant "new crx" with K powered engine. Anyway, I'd like to see that insight crxlvr... sounds wild!

Clutchmaster's drag car is a honda insight with a k motor. runs 9s allmotor.
i think the insight IS the new CRX. the main concept of the CRX is a light fuel efficient car. the insight fits the same description, infact the insight is all alumunium and weighs in the 1800lb range. a light car handles and brakes better thus making it safer vehicle. the wheel covers are all function; reduce windage/drag around the wheels, which also increases highway fuel economy. i dont know if this is on the insight but the all alumunium honda fit has a rigid floor that they said is a good base for a race car. both crx and insight also have "weak" engines, but with a powerful motor theyre really fast.
imo, the insight looks like it can pick up where the crx left off, i would buy one but they cost too much for me right now.
