Center upper brake light replacement

Lincoln 2000 V6: how do I access this to replace the center upper brake light bulb that is against the rear window. Thanks for any advice.

Place both hands on the light cover so that the fingers are on top and the thumbs is on the forward part neast the head rest. press down firmly with equal pressure on both side and slide the cover toward the front of the car.

It has some J hooked type of retaining system which requires the cover to be pressed down.

You have to slide it toward the front of the car in order to clear the latches so to speak. Take your time and if you dont get it the first time gradually apply a little more down force.
