So I've had the worst week ever...

So this week is the week from hell. My dog died on Tuesday shortly after midnight of sudden death. He was just at the vet last weekend. I take Tuesday off only to find myself with the worst cold ever. A major fever. Yeah you get the idea. We won't even mention the morning events of burrying my cold, stiff 78 lb. dog. Ok so I mentioned it. Moving on... Wednesday I return to work only to have my best friend act like an asshole because I happen to be his supervisor too and I called him out on something he did wrong at work and he couldn't just suck it up and apologize. Then on Thursday it's my much awaited interview for an animal control officer job. It's only the job that I've wanted for like 5 years and have been basing all my work experience and education on!!! So on the way there, I get lost, thank you MapQuest!! Then, I get pulled over. Is it for speeding? no. Is it for my super illegal window tint? no. How bout my illegal white turn signals? NO! It's my clear license plate cover!!! So I politely ask the cop to point me in the direction of his work because I have an interview there and he's like, "seriously?" and I say, "yes sir" and he goes to his partner, "hey Steve! she's headed for the POLICE DEPARTMENT for an INTERVIEW!!!" Then they both laugh like it's just the most hysterical thing on earth. By this point, I'm shaking like a leaf because my nerves are just shot to hell. I make it to the PD, on the dot and so I had to run a few blocks to the place because there was no parking and I get there all sweaty and out of breath and hacking and coughing and sniffling all over the place.... and let's just say it didn't go so well. I'm still sick as a dog... I have no dog... and everything just SUCKS! And i'm sorry but I just needed to vent!!! My dog Juno was more than just a dog u know. He was fine and then all of a sudden he was just gone. I was planning to redo the whole back area of my car so he could always have a place to lay and hang out with me. Now everything is just taken apart and in pieces, all for nothing.

I don't really know what I expected out of this post but I just needed to post my misery somewhere!

I'm really sorry to here. I was wondering what was up because I never saw you on aim or on the forums. Did they turn you down for the job or what? I know it meant a lot from you just the few times talking.

that sux...hope u get the job...and just buy a new dog, itz known that most pets don't last...just a shock when they die...get a puppy and enjoy this one...

i'm sorry your week sucks. lets hope that is the end of it and you can start the "it gets better from here" process

my rott is creeping up on 9 years this feb. he's had misc. problems over the last year or 2...which i'm not really suprised. big dogs don't live as long as ankle bitters. i'm trying to constantly give him as much attention as possible as i know his days are numbered.

Well in the interview it went from "we'll notify the person we've selected almost immediately as training starts in 2 weeks" and then as this guy was walking me out of the building it turned into, "you'll probably get a letter in the mail sometime this next week". ouch! i suppose it's sort of funny.

the loss of juno was very difficult because although he was 8, he didn't have any health problems or signs of slowing down. he was fine one moment, and gone in no more than 30 seconds.
