i currently have a 92 rodeo, there was an ad in the local paper for a 93 rodeo 4x4, 5 sp, power windows,a/c, new timing belt, tensioner, brakes, it needs a new clutch, they wrote that the motor runs great(3,2L) $450/obo must sell.......160k miles...first how much should i expect to pay for a new clutch(parts only) bc id be doing the work??? if i dont buy it for driving purposes it would be a good parts car for my 92, i could use the leaf springs, and my gas tank is on its way out, also would it be worth it to swap out the 3.1l i have for the 3.2l, whats the power difference? and which engine is more reliable??

Buy it for 450, and then sell your 92 for 1500 and then get the 93 clutch fixed. 93 has an Isuzu 3.2 (a much better engine in my opinion).

Yes, take amigo2k's advice. 93-97 engines are generally reliable...I can vouch for that. I drove my 93 4WD for 2 days with barely any oil 45 min on a highway, each way....I nearly freaked out when I found out in the oil dipstick. But for some reason, this truck kept going! (I wouldn't suggest it though). I have so much respect for this "engine that could" after that....just keep her juiced up and greased up and she will run for a long time... :smokin:

I agree whole-heartidly with this statement. I too have a 3.2L V6, running on 134K miles now; I have never ran her dry of oil. But I'll tell ya, this truck got us home after a long road trip during a snow storm and cold temps with only a tiny bit of juice left from the battery. The alternator had died in the last 100 miles of our drive, and the battery followed suit, both being about 5 yrs old. There was no place around that was open that night, but even with the volt tach at barely 10, the need to charge and battery light on, that darn truck brought us all the way home.

I trust this truck more than any new car in town; she'll forever have a spot in my driveway.
