Is the car running good? Sounds like a head gasket, these cars are prone to this issue. Run the car with the overflow cap off and see if you can see bubbles in the resevoir.

car runs fine the gauge goes up side to side every 5 to 10 min. didnt run the car yet witrhout the rad cap but i will. but if its the head gasket isnt coolant supposed to be leaking out of the side?

depends where tthe gasket breaks, if its in the combustion side it will put air in your system...

i had the same problem, and changed the gasket (there wasnt any breaks in it) but i had a new one anyways.. so i put it in.. only to find out it didnt help the air/heating problem.. im going to have my head pressure checked, cleaned and checked for warpage.. hopefully that will give my car back its compression so i can friggin start it
