Hey i was looking at crutchfield cuz i get a 10% discount... well anyway i wanna get one decent 12" in a sealed box for my hatchback. I dont really care for entry level, but i want it to hit hard i was looking at an Infinity Perfect 12.1 (350 RMS) and a Profile AP600 which will put out 300x1 bridged. Will i be happy with this? thanks

Depending on wut uve heard before. I think Infinity used to make some good drviers back in the day, as many will agree with me, but today, their really not well built. Try looking for sumthing else. Do you want sound quality too or you just want it to hit hard? Wuts your budget?

hard to say what YOU will be happy with. Crutchfield is a full price outfit, their 10% a lot less of a discount than what you can get from other online stores

i want to spend like $300-$400 including a Q logic. so pretty much a box, a single 12", and an amp that will power it... I guess sound quality would be slightly more important, but i still wanna feel the hit. Im not trying to impress anyone but me... If not the infity and profile, then what should i look into?

you dont care for entry level yet you have a budget of $400 maximum? son $400 will barely get you an entry level sub stage. Adire Shiva+Hifonics NX750D+2cuft Sealed=morethan what you are looking for or should expect from Crutchfeild (giggles)

May as well goto walmart, pick up a Sony Xplode 12" and a Sony Xplode 400W amp and be done with it. They also sell small boxes fitted for 12's as well. It can all be had for around $200, including the wiring kits they sell for about $20.
This setup MIGHT vibrate a little and also sound like shit, but that's what $400 will get you. You need to save up and wait a little bit longer and get something worth buying.

and guys.. dont knock crutchfield.. yeah they are expensive, but holy shit their customer service is awesome. free lifetime tech support, free installation equipment, ect.
for example listen to this.. a few months ago, my friend bought some 10 inch L5s (blowout sale) and within a month or two he screwed up and fried the hell out of both of em. he called crutchfield. they said.. oh you must have overpowered them (not covered in almost ANY warranty i know of).. they said ok well we can send you 2 new ones free, and well also upgrade you to the L5 12s free of charge to handle the extra power. they should be there this week.

Hifonics NX750D
around 2cuft sealed
is a HELL of alot louder with a HELL of alot better SQ than walmart Sony crap. a shiva with 750w is decent entry level. specatular SPL can be had from these and SQ is an always. i dont understand what your beef with adire is...

out of curiosity.. why are you recommending so much power to the shiva? i thought they bottomed out with like 300 rms..
i would think he could stick with the ap600 from crutchfield, and then just put that on his shiva.

well for one it is a dual 8ohm driver which means 250w into 4ohm when the coils are wired in parallel. this gives him room for 2 later on with out upgradeing the amp...

I was being sarcastic :). You were showing him a setup that would cost above his budget. If he's only willing to spend a MINIMAL amount, he can't get crap. He said $300 - $400. I'm more than willing to bet that $400 is about out of the question.

stick with your profile amp you'll be good on it but for your sub get an ascendant audio atlas 12 or 15 whatever you can fit.........wire the "dead coil" ....... one's that are gold positive to negative w/ a wire (just hook the positive and negative terminals on the sub together this side will NOT be hooked up to an amp.......the silver side is what you wire to the amp) For the 12 put it in 1.5 cubic feet sealed.... for the 15 put it in 4 cubic feet sealed (I put slightly bigger sizes then the site b/c those boxes are stuffed w/ polyfill and you also have sub displacement). Make sure you set your gains right and with 300 watts these subs will POUND and sound damn good. Try to do the 15 if you can. price is 145 for the 12 160 for the 15.....great prices.
