88 and 90 heads

Looks like you guys know a lot about preludes, so I'm wondering if anyone knows offhand the answer to my question.

I have an 88 prelude (si) that's going downhill fast. Rough winters have taken a toll on the body, but the head was redone about 2 years ago.

My friend has a 90 prelude with a cracked head. I'd like to put the head from the 88 on the 90. Then I would get to drive the 90.

Are these heads completely interchangeable, or will modifications have to be made? I'm pretty sure it's almost the exact same engine, but perhaps there's something I'm not aware of (change in manifolds, etc.)

Any help would be appreciated, and thanks for your time!

Depends on what type of engine you have in the 88 and the 90. Ironically enough, if the 90 is a dual-carb (b20a3 pk1) and not fuel injected (pk2 or pk3 -- for the 2.0 and 2.1 fi engines), then you're screwed. Seriously...it's the hardest to find and least versatile for interchangeability. find out the engine type (not just b20a3, but the pk number also) on both and check with your honda dealer. then ur set!

good luck!
