Windshield Wipers Quit Working

Hi everyone, i'm Robin and new to your forums.

I have a 1989 Acclaim. The problem i'm having is the front wipers. They just stopped working. I have never really worked on my car. I always took it to the garge. Well.....i want to fix it myself. I was told it could be the switch or the motor. My question is, should i check the switch out first?

hi Robin,I see no one responds here,i had a question and no one answered.i had a noise and thought it was the tranny,it was the cover to the tranny and runs fine now,had a dent in the dust pan.Now on your wipers,check the fuse first,it will be on the left of your steering wheel.also check your motor,those tend to go first,also check to see if there is current going to the plug of the motor.i hope yuou have a tester,get one cheap at a auto store.if it;s your wiper switch,that will cost you.,let me know what happens,dave :naughty:
