piston ring

Ok Im gonna buy this Plymouth Laser 1990 5 speed with turbo charger in it. The piston ring in the laser is like worn out. So I was wondering if i drive it slowly will i make it back without destorying the engine? The guy that owns it say I will since I live like 5 minutes away from him.

Define worn out? If its not smoking badly yet, you should be able to drive it. Just stay out of boost and it should be ok to drive.
