what a fun nigh indeed!!!

alright so im going up to ihop with my firned (who is a big guy!!!!) to meet some people in my MR2... on the way there i was on this 3 lane road.... i come to a stop at a light... and i see this brand new suv...(not sure what it was)....we were both the first ones at the ligh... and he dose this little "launch forward "thing and i was like hmm... so im thinking... hmmm and instead of takeing up to 4000 rmp every gear.. i took it to 5000 and he was right next to me... and he start pulling.... and my firned was like... "dude you are getting your ass kicked by an suv" i said.... haha he wish... down shift and took off.... i start gaining at around 80 this truck from on comeing trafic dose a left turn... and i slowed down... cause i didn't want to hit it.... anyway after about a mile we come to another stop ligh... we were both in the front.... i give him a peace sing... he waves hi to me and my freind waves.... anyway... he dose the "launch forward and stop thing again" so this time i take my rpm up to 3000 before letting the clutch engage.... and we take off... i get pushed back in the seat... and we were kind of neck to neck... and then i started pulling on him on 2nd gear.... and then it hits 6300 rmp... i tried to shit to 3rd... but the next thing i know as i released the clutch and when i was pulling my hand back... i accedantlly kocked the knobe out of gear... and he start gainning.... and i tried to recover ... but when i actually caughed up iwth him... he starts slowing down cause of trafic so i did too... we drive normal for about 2 mroe stop lighs... untill we get the front again... he was in the far left lane.. i was in the far right lane.... i told him to roll the window down... and he did... as he did.. this car got in the middle so we both pulled up alittle... i said "man.... i missed that 3rd shift".... he goes.... as he was pointing to the ligh.. "now its your chance" as he said that...i looked over and as soon as i did the ligh turned GREEN!! so hit the gas, my rpm shot up to about 4000 and i engage the clutch in... took off way faster then before..!!!! i was about 1 foot in front of him at the end of 1st gear...(so i assumed i had a better lunach) .... i shift into 2nd... this time im not letting my hand off the shift knob and i plat it very good in gears.... by the time we got up to 90 mph... i slowed down due to incomeing trafic... and then i looked over and and he waves and nods... and i yell out... it was fun!!! and turned right into i hop!!!

**i'll skip the part about the ihop cuase this is a raceing story***


after ihop we decite to go to this shopeing center... on my way there... i see this car think it was a big car... like caddi size... with a hot chick in the back.. and 2 guys in teh front..(hey look like in thier 20's)... so i was trying to get the chick's attention so i reved!! and she starts laughing... and when the ligh turned gree... they kinda took off fast so i was like hmm.. its go time... i flored it... and smoked the shit out of it... i got around 85 and i started slowing down after about a min... he pulled out next to me... and the guy in the passanger seat was like leaning out the windowing with something in his hand yelling at me...... so i rolled the window down and thouhg he was holding a deck of cards... and he said " wanto sell it??" i was confused as to why he would say that while pointing to a deck of cards.... so i looked at the "deck of cards..." and i realized holy shit its A STACK OF MONEY... WITH 20S AND 100S.... then i said in a non challantl voice.." haha you ain't got enough" droped it to 2nd gear and took off.....

I don't understand the first 'race' with the SUV..while racing..you downshifted? That's interesting.

So he could get into his power band, kinda like when you rape some kid in a ricer, and let off, and as he comes by for the ricer fly by, downshift, and take off.

ohh. okay. so the race was over, THEN he downshifted? I thought he meant while climbing up his gears..he downshifted for some reason.

the typical launch rpm for a mr2 is atleast 5000 rpm, and if done properly , your car will jump forward, almost not spinning the tire at all, and your revs will stay at your launch rpm.

if my friends MR2 takes off properly, he'll take me off the line by 1.5-2 cars average. thats alot, and i can outlaunch a type R ( not bad for a open diff RWD with crappy tires ).

in other words, a properly launched MR2 can hang with a STi, EVO's take off.
