All:
I need some help. I am having a major problem with my limited slip diffenential when the payment is wet. If both wheel start to slip at the same time, my truck bed will violently kick to the left. This puts me into a major spin. Went to the Toyota dealer and they told me that the LSD is working correctly. The dealer has referend me to TMS (Toyota Motor Sales) for action.
Has any one expertienced this problem with the TRD Sport LSD? (My 04 does not have traction control). It is my understanding that LSD should open "up" when both wheels are rotating at the same speed. Please advise!

I have no idea what you mean by "open up", but you apparently don't understand what a limited slip differential does or how it works. Your dealer is correct: it's operating properly.
To make both wheels rotate at the same speed is the whole point of an LSD,i.e., to direct some of the power to the wheel that has traction. When NEITHER tire has traction, both tires spin freely, and a kick out of the rear in the direction of a turn is the direct result.

...you might learn something.

Apparently, you did not understand english or the question asked! I understand how and why a LSD works, pin head! I am talking about when both wheels spin on wet pavement at the same time. The problem that I have is that the truck kicks left and puts my truck into a spin when I driving straight, not when I am turning. " Open up" means when both wheels are under traction and lose traction at the same time the LDS should not put the truck into a major spin with the loss of traction. This is not how a LSD is designed to work. Next time you feel to chime in on a subject, lets understand the question?

For someone whose facility with the english language is so meager that they can't even phrase a simple question correctly, you have a hell of a lot of nerve calling me a pinhead. I guess that makes you a moron.
And for your information, the LSD is not putting the truck into a spin, more than likely it is you, the driver, doing it. If you were really familiar with how the LSD works, then you would realize that what you are proposing is impossible, i.e., a properly or even improperly operating limited slip cannot by itself make the vehicle violently or even gently kick to the left or right. Apparently your level of understanding is not as great as you think.
A number of factors can cause the rearend to move to either side when both tires are spinning, or as you so quaintly put it, "open up"; uneven pavement, a slight incline in the road to either side, etc. The only other conceivable cause would be if the rearend were not lined up perfectly perpendicular to the centerline of the vehicle, which is a highly doubtful prospect. In reality, what you are experiencing is neither surprising or out of the ordinary. Two suggestions: 1) learn to drive better; 2) learn how to phrase a question so it reflects the meaning of what you want to ask.

Geez Buddy. Who's the pinhead? You claim to know what a limited slip is and how they work and you post with a reply like that?
Check your alignment (and driving skills) and stop blaming it on the LSD - bonehead
