I searched here on AF, on ebay and on HlJ and didn't find anything about chapparal kits(except hot wheels and slot cars).I was wondering if anyone had info . After reading a lot about Chapparal cars , i became kind of obsessed with them, mostly with the first generations of the winged cars, since they were the first to ''discover'' downforce(correct me if i'm wrong)

Btw, i think Fujimi already did a Chapparal 2F , but i would looooove to build a 2E or a 2G.
2E

Thanks in advance for any info

You might have more luck if you spell it "Chaparral".
Fisher makes a resin 2E and 2F. Can be bought at places like Strada Sports (http://gallery.bcentral.com/Gallery/ProductListing.aspx?GID=5082428&Dept=363679).

Revelle just released a kit called the Chaparral 2D Coupe and it's a "monogram" kit. Kat has it because we know someone who if friends with Jim Hall so she's going to get the box signed and it will be just a collector piece! We found it at Hobby Lobby end of last year and they have more at our hobby lobby. I can try and get digital pics of the box later and post them up.

I've got the R-M kit sitting right here in my workshop. It looks like it will turn out nice, but definitely low on the details: No suspension, no engine, only about a dozen parts. It does have a painted driver figure, but you can see the seam lines, so I might strip it, fill and sand them, and paint it myself.

I'm hoping to go shopping for a digital camera myself this weekend, can get pics if I get one.

Here are two links giving a history of Chaparral models in scale...
http://gpma.org/rmchaparral1.html
http://gpma.org/rmchaparral2.html

The article is a few years old and omits a few things. Two notable omissions are the Mini Exotics 2A in resin and the Revell/Monogram 2D. The 2A is a nice and reasonably priced resin kit but probably not a good beginners resin kit. The 2D is pretty good considering the tooling dates back to the late 60's. It's a curbside with no chassis detail and basic interior. The wheels and tires are passable and it has very nice Cartograf decals. Buy one, you'll like it.

I believe I read somewhere that the R-M Chapparal 2D was actually a slot-car in the 60's, and was at some point adapted to be a static model.
