scared off a vw jetta today..

well i was driving to work and i just got off the hi-way, im merging onto hemsted tpk, on my way to work, so to merge onto the local i had to boost a lil b/c there was uncomming traffic, so i guess when i put it back into OD and let off my ssqv got the attention of a nice looking old vw jetta,

this one was a oldie but goodie, the nice round light shape, dropped, rims, body kit, intake and exhaust, fender flares, nice little car, i was catious ar first casue he had 2 gauges on his apod.

so i taught he was turbo, so he catchs me up an we play cat and mouse a little, i blew off next to him about 3 times each time speeding up and letting of, and when he mashed it i heard his intake, so we catch a light, now chance of racing to much traffic and its about 130 pm. not very smart, so he revs at the light btw they are about 3 cars infornt of us at the light, so i give him some play know that its not going to get very far, i rev to about 4k make about 1psi and blow off, his face was like :cwm27: :uhoh: ..

so the light turns green he masshes it like an ass, and hits the breaks b/c of traffic, i take off at normal speed, i see a opening and i cut around some traffic, so i see him follow, nowt the road begins to open up, so i mass the gass 50%throttle and hit 11psi i see him getting close so i let off and unexpectedly i hear a loud "POP" form my exhaust, this one was really loud, i heard it over my music and bov, once i heard the backfire and look back i see the vw slow down and start to fall back, then he signals and get behind me adn stay his distance.. lol :lol:

i guess he got scared off my me backfireing, i assume i shot a fireball b/c when i got to work i look at my bumper above my exhaust and it was black, and i cleaned it yesterday.. hehe i know that guy was shook..

Hey turbo...what part of hemstead turnpike was this..?? Anywhere between freeport/beginning of franklin square is where alot of racing happens-not good though, to many cops and ped's.

na it was at the beginning of hemstead, boderline queens nassau, elmont area... i try to mess around tho on busy streets too much cops.. but some times you get carried away.

Yeah...a fire breathing probe definantly does have something intimidating about it.

Turbo...theres is a good strip right ON the Cross island parkway-the overpass. Thats some fun shit to drive on, and pull an illegal U turn and smoke my tires......

BTW, that KFC around there is th sh*t..

i see that solaris is not too far from me and turbo. maybe we can meet up one day.

yes crossisland is fun that was were i was messing with the viper that handed me my ass lol it was fun tho.. yea im down we might actaully get big like cali in these nyc af meet, now were only 2 strong lol..

lol i would love to meet up with a whole bunch of af peeps, it would be fun, you know what would be cool if we all did like a east coast tour, starting for mass, all the way to florida (miami the girls sorry) and new members meeting up in different state, that would be real fun, but first i need a car that will make a trip like that.. lol

as for a bov on a auto car? what is worng with that? autos also need some way to vent off acess boost, the throttle plates do close on autos, so i dont see the problem with my bov..

Yea, people let off the gas in automatic cars too. Jeez :rolleyes: But you can vent to atmosphere much easier with an auto. Given you use a draw-through Mass Air metered setup. This doesn't apply to speed density cars.

so i guess automatic supra turbos dont' need blow off valves then?

if not then what do they come with from the factory? they come with bypass valves which are basically blow off valves but routing the vented boost back into the intake rather the out to atmosphere.
