Ever Feel Like You've Been Spared..?

From severe injury or death...??

There have been several times that i swear it i felt as if i SHOULD have gotten severe injury..or death, but didn't.

One time(2years ago), it was a rainy night, in which there was black ice on the roads.. PS i skidded off the main road @ 35mph into a 35mph Street sign-that was no joke 2 feet away from a HUGE telephone pole. No injury, the cop told me that at that speed i could have gotten severally hurt if i clipped the telephone pole. :eek7:

Just last july (right after my uncle died) an old lady hit my drivers side front wheel area @ 40mph. If i would have gotten hit in my door-i'd still be in the hospital. BTW, she blew a red light. :banghead:

Besides this, there have been so many times where i FELT like i was just spared...for what though, what the hell is the grand scheme...lol.. Maybe we are all part of something that we cannot fathom. Nor do we know what the reason is.. :screwy:

This poses another question...Do ALL things happen for a reason, good or bad..... :sly:

Its all chance or luck if you will. You flip a coin to decide if you should chop off your toe or not. If you dont chop off your toe its not that your toe has been spared its just that during that one flip it happened to land on that side. The woman hitting your car you werent being spared you were just lucky, same for the road sign. Now who knows I could be wrong, had you not gotten into those wrecks you could have gone another mile down the road and gotten hit by a train. Everything doesnt happen for a reason but every experience that you get is a result of previous actions.
For example if you have ever happened to catch an old friend out of the corner of your eye when your walking across campus so you go say hey. If you hadnt had to stop and tie your shoe for example on your way to class then you might not have seen the friend. This friend and you could end up hanging out which would have never happened if you didnt stop to tie your shoe. But you also missed that one question on your history test that put your average to a C instead of a B and kept you from getting into law school because you missed something important from talking to your friend, all because you tied your shoe...i think that makes sense, you might have to read it a couple times for it to.

Yes. Had diverticulitus(however you spell it) when I was 3. In short, its an infection of the intestine. Gainge-green(sp?) set in and i had to have 3ft of my small intestine removed. Was in the hospital for like a month i believe my mom said and for a while was barely hanging on to life.

I'm very thankful that God kept me here. Especially for my parents sake.

I was on the side of a highway one time, after my cousin had to pull over... it was night time, he had his hazards on.. well I see this semi truck coming down the road... there were no other cars so I figured he would kinda back off away from the shoulder. Once I realized he was way too close, it was too late for me to react. I was like, "oh fuck".. my cousins truck door was about halfway open, and I was right in front of the door. I was like a deer in the headlights. I couldnt react. I stood there hoping for the best. I think the semi missed the door by less than 6 inches, and I think one of the mirrors missed my head by not much more than that. In those few seconds that the truck flew by me, I was never more scared of anything in my life. Once it passed, I felt very very lucky to be alive. If the mirror had hit me in the head, you can only imagine that I would have fallen right into the semi truck and probably would have gotten tore up. I knew to pay attention to the road, it just all happened so fast. I learned my lesson though. If you are on the side of the highway, do not assume people will give you room. I doubt the truck driver was paying attention. In the 30-40 feet or so that he was approaching, he got about a foot or more closer to the shoulder. Its easy to imagine jumping out of the way with lightning reflexes, but in the situation, its hard not to freeze up and shit your pants. I didnt shit my pants, but if I was holding a shit at the time, I may have. Thats the closest to death that I have come... that I know of.

oh, and there were a few times I let my ex drive my car. I luckily survived that.

A few years back I was riding my bike down a hill. I lost control off a 5 foot drop and flipped over the handlebars and landed in a puddle. I looked behind me and no more than a foot from my mid-spine there was a tree. To this day I'm pretty sure if I hadn't hit that puddle I would have gone back first into a tree doing about 30km/hr. I really couldn't see walking away from that.

I rolled my car twice into a 10 foot ditch going 70 mph (long story). I didn't break any glass on my car, and all I got was a bump on my head from when I unbuckled and landed on the roof of the car. I was unbelievably lucky not to get hurt at all.

There was one time where my anger got the best of me and I kinda threw something at my little brothers head and hit him and he made it out with a scar so this probably saved me from a fatal beating from my father.

oh man, almost 7 years ago when I was pregnet with my daughter, me and my husband were comming back from a trip, it was dark and raining. We were gone for about 2 weeks. We had no idea that there was road construction on the highway. we were about 1 mile from home, we went around a curve and we started spinning out of controle. I was not wearing my seat belt( dumb ass ) then the car flipped 2 times. The whole thing seemed to have taken an hour. The roof of the car was smashed in, and all the glass was shattered. Pretty bad wreck. I remember after it was all over looking up and seeing a man standing in front of the car, smiling. I thaught nothing of it. I was pretty messed up, then a man pulled me out of the car, I did not know him nor did I care. He put me on the grass beside the car, I closed my eyes and started crying then a truck pulled up and asked me and my husband if we were ok. I was more concerned about my baby than myself. They called the ambulince and we were taken to the hospitol. They said that All 3 of us were ok. A few days later I tried to locate the man who pulled me out of the car, The man did not exist. There was no other man. nobody else seen him but me. I believe God was watching out for me and my baby that night. There was no construction sighnt out that night either.. Gods honest truth

went around a corner and whiped totally out of control at 80 mph! horrible, i hit a car on the driver fender and my car rolled off it(instead of head-on or hitting the door).we ended up 60 ft apart. cop told me god must have been lookin out for me.he said with that accident i probably had a 5% chance of surviving. u bet i believe in god!!!!!!!definately learned from my mistakes!!!!!!!

there was this one time I was in class after school. There were about 3 or 4 other students in there, all around the teachers desk as she was helping them with a problem. I was about 10 feet away, and suddenly realized I had to fart. I tried my damndest to hold it in, but I could tell it was about to burst out... MY eyes got wide, I could tell it was about to happen, then at that moment, my friend (one of the other students) was just told that he did a problem all wrong... he slammed his fist down on the big metal desk and yelled, "DAMMIT!!"...
that was the exact moment I let one rip. Nobody heard it because of Paul. I think God was watching out for me right then, it was a monster fart. I got lucky, plain and simple. I was spared.

My brother went out to go get a burrito instead of going to bus stop to go to his class, then while he was in line. A car hits the bus stop and like brings the whole thing down.

I think all this is just pure luck/coinsedence, just like sivic02 said. Maybe thats because I think of god as a spirit and disagree with bible.

Anyways here is my story:
I was riding my bikcycle around (i do it like its my last day living) and going as fast as I could through an s turn i hit a pole with side of my steering wheel/bar, i flipped over the bike, flew about 6 yards through the air fell down on my arm and snapped it in half. Now I live with titanium rods in both of my bones in the left arm and have 3 2in scars on my arm. That was pretty lucky because i did not smack my head and died.
Oh and bycicle steering wheel did 2 complete turns, all the wires (brakes, gear shift) were broken at some point, the left pedal was extremely bent too.

To avoid all these accidents you could just drive normal and be very carefull, which i now learned.

I'm sure I could think of several but one sticks in my mind in particular. I was riding quads in the sand with two of brotherrs, and their friends including their friends son who had a 250cc dirt bike.

My oldest brother was in front of me next to a hill that sloped downward from us. My brother called me over to him to talked to him, and I only moved my quad a few feet to get next to him.

Not even 10 seconds after I glimpsed the other kid on his 250cc in the air heading right for me( he had just jumped up the hill heading toward us.) I attempted to get off, but by the time he landed I didn't even have a foot off the quad. His rear tire had grazed my left rear tire, and left a tire mark. If I wouldn't have been called by my brother I would have been hit in the face by his front tire, and undoubtedly been severely hurt. That really made me think.

I had also had a run in with a drunk driver in a 80's suburban who was on our lane going around a corner on a 4 lane road doing atleast 80mph, and we were doing 50ish. My brother luckily had a cool head, and steered to the right, and the suburban flew right by us. I was speechless for the the rest of the night thinking about what had happened.

AHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAH LMFAO  RICK, YOU MADE MY DAY LOL!

awesome experience.....i've had many like that myself. ahahahahaha......

OK, we were snowmobiling in Colorado, near Beaver Creek Ski Resort (near Vail and Avon). We were taking a 200 mile tour through the rockies, included a night stay, dinner, lunch, the whole shebang. OK, so we were on a straight area on the trail, and we were the last in the convoy of 9 other snomobiles including the guides. everyone was doing 60 mph comfortable, and this was a 8 ft wide trail if not bigger or smaller. to our right was a wall or snow slanting to the top of a steep hill, and to our left was a steep decent of untouched snow and humungo pine trees. there was a curve coming up but my mom and sister who were ahead of us didnt see it because of the snow drafts coming from the back of the snowmobiles. SO instead of taking the relatively sharp curve, my mom keeps going straight but lets go of the gas too late, doesnt slow down enough to make the turn, and goes into deep untouched snow off the trail that was on a slowly slanted down grade of the hill that got steeper as it went down. And my dad, who was driving happened to follow my mom, so we went into the snow too. 10 feet more and we wouldve been part of the pine trees i was talking about. So that was a close one. WE waited 30 min before the instructor did the routine check to make sure everyone was together, so he came back, and we had to wad through deep snow to make a small trail that led back to the regular trail. made me so tired. we were waist high in snow.

about a year ago i was driving to work, it was my first day back from my vacation. about half way to work there was a dog in the road. me being stupid i thought i could get by the dog without hitting it b/c the dog was in the dead center of the road on the yellow lines. so as i past the dog my front right tire drops off on to the shoulder. i lose control and hit a tree doing about 55mph. i get out of my car without a scratch on me thank god.

My right leg was only draped over the seat. It happened so quickly there wasn't near enough time to get off. A falling bike comes at you pretty quickly.
