Again: Koni?

I went to check the price for Koni Yellows today. The guy who sold them told me the Koni's can be adjusted up to 7cm, the problem is that I've read a lot about Koni on the boards I visit and what I remembered from them is that Koni's aren't really hight adjustable, you can just put the spring on a lower 'plate' (don't know what to call it) what can give you a max added drop of 15mm. So now I'm really confused:confused:

BTW: the price I got completely installed + aligned was a little less then 400 euro:)

That doesn't sound right. The Koni fully threaded coilovers are adjustable to 60mm. Is this what he is talking about as €400 is a great price for them.

Koni also have a sports suspension which includes the Koni yellows and springs to match. The perch can only be adjusted for a maximum of approx 10mm. I don't know how much the spring lowers the car (probably 30mm).

Hi,

The price is good. The Koni's I have are fully adjustable (Koni yellows with Coil-Over), but they are a little bit more expensive then that.

It would only be the shocks. I would keep the springs I got now on my car.

It's right that the koni yellows damper can only be changed in height with the 'plate' which the spring rests on. So changing height after installation can only be done while compressing the springs while under the car with a 'compress' tool. The drop / raise height is different for each car, also the number of height positions. For mine 3 heights -15 / 0 / +15 mm , but they are also with 5 different heights and + - 30mm.
You can look at koni.com for info about ride height

Nevermind the price, last week the Koni guys gave the wrong price. I went back today to the tyre central and now the price was 650euro:mad: for Koni's. So I decided to wait...

BTW: any other options for good (and not to expensive) shocks that give you an extra drop?

Other brands for shocks are Jamex, Spax, Bilstein,.... Some brands like Inxx offer complete kits which include springs and shocks for about €300,- but I dunno about their quality.

by the way.... jamex isn't any more... it's 'failliet' ... and it was pore quality so I wouldn't recommend it to any one.
