Allright, here it is. A '97 Aspire 1.3L auto., it'll crank but wont fire! It seemed to only do it when the weather was wet, so I gave it new plugs, wires, & cap, still wont fire. It's getting spark and fuel, but, if I unplug the fuel injection fuse, then plug it back in while cranking, it'll fire off a couple of pops like it wants to go. But, then it'll go right back to just cranking. It just got a new fuel pump 2 months ago, I'm kinda thinking the fuel pressure regulator is weak, but I dont know jack about these little cars. Any suggestions???
BTW, it's not mine, it belongs to my mother-in-law, I'm a Chevy person:D

an auto trans god that thing must be slow
my dad has a 1995 1.3 aspire with a 5speed and I thought that was slow
just had to get a the speedo and odo fixed along with a CAT about $1200 in repairs and the car is only worth $1600
I would say its the distributor, back when my dads car was new same thing happend and it turned out to be the distributor cap, it had melted
we almost got stuck in NJ but the ford dealer took the part off of a showroom car and we were on our way
PM me if you need any more info

All the tune-up items are new, along with the fuel pump and filter. It's also showing no computer codes. It's on it's way to the dealer today, everyone I've asked about this is stumped.

I have found that there are only 2 places on the face of the planet that sell parts for the Aspire. The first is the Ford dealer and the other is Autozone.
Autozone is notorious for selling complete junk. I found that I have to inspect every part I buy at Autozone.
If something goes wrong with my car, I usualy go after the latest Autozone parts I bought.
I have also found that applying liberal amounts of dielectric grease to any electrical connection will dramaticaly help to increase the part's life.
