91 Buick PA Dynaride draining battery?

Hi,
I have a 91 PA that won't start. Seems like the Dynaride compressor runs constantly after I shut off the car. Would this be draining my battery? And if it is, will disconnecting the dynaride suspension give me a horrible ride? How would I go about disconnecting this? Fuse or wires?

Sounds like the system is leaky. I would try to fix this.
The compressor just hold the level if the car is loaded up, itīs no airride. So i think you will have no problems with your unloaded car.
To disconnect i would remove the fuse.

I also had a 91 PA that I had bought that had over 200K on it. The compressor also ran all the time causing the battery to go dead. To stop the compressor from running I had to unplug the wires the went to the compressor. Everything still ran the same as before.

check the realy, just found that mine had heavy corrosion on it, clean it off or replace if you find that to be the same on yours, might just shorten out the relay. relay to be found on passenger side, under dashboard inside the car, behind a black panel held by 4 screws.

Another item to check is the rear ride height sensor. The rod that connects from it to the rear lower control arm can come loose or break possibly resulting in a low-ride signal that turns on the compressor continuously. Eventually the compressor may wear out and need replacement, so getting it to quit ASAP is kind of important. Sometimes, the sensor itself goes bad inside, even though the external connecting hardware is in good shape. I don't think the sensor is cheap. More likely, however, is that you have air line leaks, disconnects, or leaky air bladders in the rear shocks. My advice would be to fix this for a few reasons: 1) Adds support to the saggy butt these cars have without load leveling, 2) makes for safer handling/control in emergencies, 3) keeps your headlights out of the tree tops and oncoming drivers' eyes, and on the road ahead where you need them.

mine has stop working a long time ago.. it's the module black box under the car that went... i installed a 10$ switch instead.. under de steering so i put air myself in and take some out as i wish.. much safer. i pull up, it put air in, i pull down, it releases the air. the only draw back is you have to check to not much to much coze the back of the car will be higher than the front... :)

Well, I kinda done the same thing to avoid compressor running with ignition off, fuse 12 on my 88, is unswitched, I now use fuse 21(spare) as the supply to the compressor relay, now the compressor won't run unless engine is also running. mine just ran intermittant, enough to kill my weak battery, I do not have a leak in the system, new strutts as well, but supposedly the system has a timeout limit of the number of seconds it supposed to run when engine is off.
