I've got a 95 eclipse with a busted 420A. I've already learned that swapping to a 4G63T isn't cheap due to lots of custom work. When I replace the 420A in my car I want to go ahead and boost it but I'm not sure whether I should spend the money to do a custom turbo or if I should spend the money to do the custom work to convert to a 4G63T. I need to know what would be better in the end for maximum horsepower with lowest budget. If anyone knows a website or has instructions on how to swap a 4G63T in place of the 420a please post it. I want to keep the car street legal. Any help would be appreciated.

highly recommended that you search before posting a topic that has been discussed many a time before....
FYI: look at the stickey at the top of the topics page. Big thing that says something like "Turbo your N/T"
Check that out. That way people won't get pissed. :uhoh:

yeah the search feature is your freind. Basically I think if selling your car and buying a turbo dsm isnt a option (almost everyone recomends that, even me) then your best bet is to turbo the motor ya got. If you are rebuilding go ahead and throw in forged internals. On those the 420a is good for decent boost and can make ample power.
Your looking at anywere between 3-5k to swap in a 4g63. You can piece together a good turbo kit for 1000-1500 or so. For me even less! Internals will prolly be upto another grand. So figure somewere between 2000 and 2500 boosted, forged, and slapping down decent times.
Definatly, definatly read the Turboing a Rs/Gs/Esi thread! Lots of general and specific info in there.
welcome to the board, peace
