PLEASE READ
so i just installed my amp.. kinda over simplifying this cause it took 4 hours (no tools, 2 degrees outside right now)
anyways... set everything up, ran all the wires, and then found an old box with 2 10s in it, not just subns though its like a loudspeaker.. and got nothing.
after running throuhg a million different checks, i realized that it was my HU. i had the pre outs in something labeled bus in?.. anyways.. i was like oh shit i thought this said sub.. cause the other two were front out and rear out. so i try the next one. (rear out) not a whole lot of output.. hmm.. well i tried the final one, front out, and it gave me good results. speakers playing at what i thought they should be.
Heres the problem. I got this HU (sony cdx-5705x) assured that it had sub preouts. it had a sub level adjustment along with the bass/treble, etc. so i figured it was all good. however, tonight it made me think i might not have them after all.. not sure what the bus in thing was all about... but it didnt work. and i dont want my new VR running on the front preouts cause i cant adjust the level from the HU and i cant put a high pass on my speakers like usual (because they cant handle much bass) without high passing my sub.
also, i noticed my HU was really hot when i was taking it out to adjust it. nto sure if its cause now i have an amp plugged in. anyways just thought id add this
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
what is the bus in? does my HU have sub preouts? am i missing something here?
amp is in sig. and i got HU from http://www.crutchfield.com/S-wiXMUjJvza7/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=62700&id=essential_info&i=158f5705x
but also best buy and local audio shop said it had preouts.
anything i forgot to mention just tell me

Haha. Just throw it in their face with a piece of shit attached to it and buy a real HU.
Go for Alpine, Eclipse, Pioneer or something else that's good. I don't know what Panasonic is like. I had a Clarion and it was decent, but that was about 4 years ago or so.
