Blazer turnsignal and brakes

Hey guys,
I was hoping that someone could help me with this. I own a 1997 s-10 blazer 4x4. Just recently I was driving down the road and noticed that whenever I hit my brakes all of the parking lights would come on this included the lights such as those that are in the instrument cluster. I also noticed that at night when the driving lights are turned on it causes all of the brake lights to come on and does not allow for the left turnsignal to blink (It will light up but not blink). Plus while working on it I noticed that the left turnsignal will come on while the ingnition switch is in the off position. And when this occurs you can hear the fuel pumps turn on and off with the blinking of the turnsignal along with rest of the gauges and idiot lights as if I were going to start the vehicle. I f you guys have any ideas of where to start or have heard of anything like this please write me back as soon as possible thankyou.

I would first check around and see if all of your grounds are fully attached and secure.

i don't think this is a grounding problem. what is happening is you have 2 or more wires that are making contact with each other. the park light circuit is feeding power back through the brake light circuit. the first thing to check is trailer wiring is you have it, i've seen many cases where the wires get beat to hell from rocks and make contact with each other. next check the rear light sockets, sometimes they get very corroded. also sometimes the wiring harnes that runs under the carpet can get water in it. one other thing these lights have in common is the multi-function switch(turn signal) but i don't think thats the problem. happy hunting!

I'm somewhat having the same problem. Do you know where/under what part of the carpet, that wiring is running, drivers side, passengers side? Thanks...
