I suspect it may be a wheel sensor, the lights only come on when I start to drive away. If it is, where and r they easy to replace.

Thx 2 every 1, got it scanned, Mech said it was a broken wire on my wheel sensor harness and repaired for 60.00 bucks. Saved a few hundred dollars by going to c him instead of the dealer.. Later the Man

I have the same problem with my Grand Am 2001. But a strange fact is, most of the times the light comes on is after I back up or I move the wheel while the car is not moving. Strange thing. I scanned it and a shop and they said that the sensors are worn off. Cost 540 to replace both of then. Didn't do it.What should I do?

I have the same problem(along with MANY MANY MANY others) on my 02 grand am. I was driving home from work in a blizzard and the trac cont, ABS, service engine soon light came on. My ABS doesn't work or my traction control. Sometimes ill turn the car on and start drving and everything will be fine and then all those light come on and none of it works anymore. I hate this car so much. I wish it was like returning something to the store. Bring the dealership your receipt and get your money back. I think the dealership puts a program in the cars computer so that everything breaks on your car just after the warranty is up.

^ ^ It happens to lots of GA'ers in the winter. Mine freaks out occasionally when I hit slush or ice, and I've heard of other people having the same issue. I think the case is that is just shocks the wheel hub enough, and causes differences in wheel rotation / speed, that it thinks something is wrong so it disables the ABS sys / Trac sys & puts on the lights. Other then those situations, I never have it happen. And it always goes away with a restart.

When I have it happen in the winter, I just turn off my car, and when I turn it back on, they're gone.
