i just went down to my local canadian tire store, ( for you guys in the states that is like a major parts, housewares, outdoors etc store here in canada) and i wanted to buy some bulbs for my headlights, so i could see better in the night. they had some nighthawk bulbs for $30 dollars a piece ( big ripoff, but then), i installed them and went for a drive but they are not as bright as i was hoping for..... does anyone know where i can find some really, REALLY bright lights for my truck???????????????????

Buy a set of off road lights, i had a set of kc hi lites on my 88 and i think they were 100 or 150 watts each , turned night into day. I have sylvania silverstars in my hi and low beams now and am quite happy with them especially with the low on with the high mod. I don't know if the sylvania's are brighter than the nighthawks or not.

i had first purschased the silverstars, and they were not as bright as the nighthawks. the nighthawks gave a better angle to the left and right and up and down. the silverstars are more tinted to give that performance look but not as bright. how did you kenny modify your lights to come on together, i mean like the low and high on together? isn't this too bright for the person that is driving in front of you?

I'm using HIR1 bulbs (high beams) (9011) and have the Sylvania X2020 HID as low beams. Running them with the 4 beam mod. Imo..... unbeatable...... but as with all mods.... it comes down to personel preference.
If I didn't have the HID (X2020), I'd also have the low beams replaced with HIR2 (9012). These HIR bulbs are really nice...... they are stock on Dodge Vipers and if anyone has seen them, ya know what I mean. They require a little filing of the one tab so the base matches the 9005 and 9006. I found a guy selling them on eBay already filed and ready to go. Awesome!!

Of coruse it would be too bright for the person driving in front of me and that is why i do not do it. There is nothing i hate more than someone following behind me with their freaking high beams on. If i am on the highway and if i can see the faintest bit of tail lights ahead i do not turn on my brights, that is just ignorant in my opinion. Also people travelling the other direction that think it is ok to leave their high's on untill we are only 100 yards apart piss me off as well, and that is when they get the brights from me. I do not put them on and leave then on , i click them on high till they dim theirs then i dim as well although i have seen some dicks leave them on till they pass. Sorry for the rant, but brights on the highways when there is drivers either ahead or oncoming is one of my bigger pet peeves

Soīs mine, but I click them on and off three times, if they donīt react, I turn them on and leave them on until he turns his hi beam off, nothing worse than driving at night and have those colon sphincters be so inconsiderate. wish I could put a spot light on the back of the truck like some truckers have down here, if you blind them, expect a very bright flash in your face...
