How much oil are u losing. And u are probably burning it. Everytime u take it to high rpm's it will burn more.

dont have the money for a compresion test, and timeing is on, while im at it, how much would a refurbished tranny cost me and how hard is the drop and re install (98 crx dx 5 speed manual) my centro assembly is shot and it grinds bad going from first to second and when i put it in reverse, yes the peddle is to the floor and its disengauged all the way

Ya, u have bad rings or something like that. That is alot of oil. At school there is a maxima that is doing the same thing. Its rings were shot.

Its not that hard to put in a new tranny. 1250$ is very high. U could put a new a6 and si tranny in yor car for that. lol

could also have bad valve seals, i just re-build my ZC, didnt bother to put new valve seals in and i'm kicking myself right now because of it, i drive my car hard and loose a fair bit of oil, it sucks too because i'm running mobil 1 synthetic which isnt cheap

no, no its not... as for an exhaust, it goes from an exhaust manifold, to pipeing, to an exhaust tip, are you sayen i need a muffler and cat to see blue smoke????

no, when i upgraded my exaust to a 2.75 inch tubing, it made a hella of a diffrence of the smoke i could see, it poored out like i was using more oil than gas, i knew a few other people who had the same prob. when i had the stock exaust on it, didnt see the blue smoke as much comparted to when i put the new exaust on.

When I was commuting over 500 miles per week at 85 MPH and up (I'd crank it up to 95 MPH before this really long, steep hill called La Bajada on I-25), burning 2 quarts per month was normal.
If you crank it up to the high rpms every shift and drive over 80 mph, you car will burn more oil, no matter how good your rings are.
Drop your highway speed to a little bit under 80, and that'll stop. Try it for a week, if you have the discipline to stay off the pedal, and you prove it to yourself.

car has only seen the highway once in those weeks and i was behind a state boy so it was 70 all the way,... how hard is it to do a ring job?

friend of mine had a truck that use to eat 1 quart every week. it never leaked oil and you didnt really see any blue smoke coming out. but of course just because there isnt any thick blue smoke doesnt mean its not burning oil

i think your burning oil and its either your valve stem seals or your rings. check your blowby, pull out that little hose on the top of your valve cover and see if it has alot of air coming out of it and or oil

lots of air, its not forceful, if i put my finger on it, the blow by stops, but theres air commen out of it well, very little oil commen out of it, none that i seen and just a small bit on my finger when i touched the metal nipple, so what does this mean? lol what needs fixen/replacement now?
