Cruise control problem

I have a '99 Jimmy 4.3, have recently been having problems with the cruise control. The cruise will work part of the time and after a while will quit. Sometimes it will not engage at all. I suspect this may be a speed sensor problem. Has anyone had similar problems and how hard is it to repair.

Also could be the cruise control module.

I would also check for cracks/tears on the cruise control vac servo (next to the ABS unit) or the hoses leading to it.

If you have the OEM cruise, I would check the vac servo for it.
