im about to buy an electronic boost controler but ive heard good/bad things about just about controler out there. for example, the apexi doesnt read in psi which is kind of a pain in the ass. the greddy profectb2 isnt very accurate. whats your guys take on this?

Stick with a manual type, read this- http://features.evolutionm.net/article/machvcorner/30
and get separate gauges for each individual reading. I always hear mechanical is more accurate also but I am not 100% on that. Unless you want the electronic type for the coolness factor?

its not a bad thing that the apexi EBC reads in BAR...once you learn the BAR measurements, understanding turbos and ratios becomes alot easyer because everything is mostly in bar format...

I used the original PRofec B for years. It worked flawlessly, super easy to use, but I could only get up to 26 psi. No matter what I tried I couldnt go higher. Well, there was one contraption I rigged up that worked, but I wont bore you guys with the details. The Profec B spec 2 sounds like a major pain in the ass, and I personally couldnt be arsed. Looks like there is a new simple version out, saw it on SBRs site, and its supposed to be good to 35 psi or something like that. I am considering getting one. If the old profec B was good to 35 psi I never would have sold it. Ever.

Quoted from the other EBC thread...

Here is a thread that I made awhile back about it... there is some good info in there!

I know that the AVC-R uses staged boost (RPM wise and gear wise) not sure if Profec or Greddy do that. I did not end up with the Greddy simply cause it was just to much money and I didnt want to spend that at the time. Anyways... Good luck!

Personally, if you have a boost gauge that reads in PSI its not hard to be able to set the AVC-R... Another thing, people somtimes refer to boost pressure in bar's, good thing to know... 1 bar = roughly 14.7psi, that also helps out when using the AVC-R.
