Customizing Keyless Entry

I've followed the instructions in the Owner's Manual for customizing my K/Entry (doors unlock in park, etc.) According to the manual after pulling the fuse and turning the key I should hear # of chimes which tells me what my van is equipped with. I get 4 chimes which "means" I have all options. I can't get my park lights to flash for "confirmation" of locking. Anyone else have this problem? I purchased my Montana used so I'm wondering if there's something unplugged, etc?? 2000 Model -

Does the horn sound for confirmation of locking? This should occur as well as having the parking lights flash? I followed the manual in our 2000 Venture and the horn/lights both work well for confirmation.

No, mine doesn't honk either - but like I said, I still get the 4 chimes stating that I SHOULD be able to make it honk or flash the lights. I was wondering if this is a "glitch" in my BCM, or if something is unhooked somewhere causing these two options to not work correctly. If it's the later, then I don't know where to begin looking for unplugged harnesses, etc.

It would seem strange that this would be a problem, and nothing else be affected in the engine control. Can you program any other modes? Or, perhaps the transmitter battery is weak in your fob, or the specific fob button isn't working. I'm just guessing now. With four chimes, you should have the honk/blink feature.

I have a 99 Montana and I have tried to customize the keyless entry, but had the same results as above. No headlight flash, horn would not sound.I only heard the click of the door locks. Tried everything in the owners manual with no result. Any ideas?

STill don't have it resolved. I can program the exit/entry lights - door locks w/ shift, etc - but no light flash or horn honk.

I have the same problem on a 2003 Venture LS with BCM 4. No light flashing. Horn honks on second lock, but no lights. Drives me crazy; can't figure it out. :banghead:

Its a gm error... what u have is a free alarm but you have to disarm through the keyless only. There are no key disarms on this vehicle. I had the same problem with mine. You will never be able to program the lights its not part of the package. :banghead:
