I am making a low boost v8 setup for my rx7 and have a buddy who has a extra vr4 stock bypass valve. how much can these hold before they start to leak?

You have a v8 in a rx7 :eek7: why, but to answer your question i have no idea, ask yogs or one of the mods they should know good luck with the setup i bet it will haul ass.

the 305 is a fairly popular swap into a RX7, Stock BOV's are good for at least 15psi, not sure what their max is.

thanks that should work great! and why a v8 in a rx7? 4.1 more liters to work with than a rotary. more displacement mean i can push a bigger turbo. plus a v8 has a few things rotaries don't. torque, MPG, the ability to survive detonation, etc.............

My stock bypass valve started leaking at stock boost (12 psi) around 50k. You can tell it is leaking when you floor it and hear a honking like a goose is under your hood. But you mentioned a low-boost setup, so you should be good.

the 3/S stock bypass valve is crap, if you want a cheap solution but good quality, look into the 1st generation dsm bypass valves. They're made of metal instead of plastic and will hold the pressure.

that is what i originally wanted to go with but had a extra vr4 one laying around. i will probaly just go with a crushed 1st gen CBV. thanks guys!
