I am swapping a 331 into a 1985 rx7 and the only manual tranny that they make mounts for my car is the t-5. I have heard horrible tales about the weakness of t-5 transmissions so i was wondering if their are any tranny's that are manual but upgrades in strength that use the same tranny mounts?

You could use a Tremec 3550/TKO/ TKO500/TkO600. Uses the same tranny mount but needs to be moved back about 3 inches or so.

which one would you suggest? my car will weigh in around 2350 pounds, built 331, 8 to 1 compression, with a t4 turbo set to about 8-10 psi. I would like the tranny to hold up for mainly street driving but i will hit the dragstrip at least once or twice. I don't want to go overkill and I am a budget builder too. so what do you recommend from those listed?

Since your car is so light, I think you'd be fine with either a 3550 or TKO. Both of these have now be obseleted by the TKO500/600(same case different internals) so you'd have to buy it used which will help the budget.
The TKO is rated for about 60ft/lbs than the 3550's but you need a 26spline clutch while the 3550 uses the stock ford 10T clutch. Also the TKO needs a 31spline(C6) output yoke.
