so i took out the stupid sensor mod ( aka cheap resistor) from ebay. (don't buy those things!) and put a filter right into my airbox (the black box on the throttle body, i guess that's the air box). i cut the original intake tube in half so some of the cooler air gets to my intake and plugged the sensor back into the original rigged intake tube. that was two days ago, and i didn't unhook the battery or anything when i took off the resistor. i didn't drive it for a day after i did that. i got in it today and my "trac off" light is on, so i got no traction control. i stopped once and when i got back in my tranny was shiftin really hard, then my check engine light came on. any ideas what happened? it's a 02 2.4L

Wow, well I don't know a ton of that stuff, but the fact that you didn't disconnect your battery before altering something is always bad, the fact that you actually bought one of those ebay things can in no way be good, and you cut stock parts in half? I say you were just asking for trouble. I can't say I could help you though, sure one of the others guys will though.

alright, got it taken care of. my mechanic checked the codes and the battery was bad, dead cell. so it couldn't run the trac system and was messin with the ecu. and i got another stock intake tube, this thing is still under warranty, i'm not that dumb. and as for the resistor, i've heard good and bad, so i checked for myself
