It's also hard to diagnose your problem with that description. First is first, pull the codes,
http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/techtips.html
Next how does it idle? How does it rev and does it build any boost? Do you get the "police siren" sound when the turbo should normally be spooling? Check all of your IC pipes for leaks or breaks, the rubber and plastic are 15 years old now and very brittle so you could have easily split or popped a hose. Maybe have someone rev the engine to help you any boost leaks. Alot of things could have happened but right now I would lean towards a huge boost leak/disconnected IC hose.

What do you mean it seams like it's not shifting? Either it is shifting, or it isn't shifting, simple as that. There are also codes for the automatic transmission so pull those too.

ok well we found out it was the turbo and we need to replace it. does anyone know where we can get a turbo for a 89 supra?

If your not worrying about making the car faster, just have it rebuilt. It's cheaper some places than it would be to buy a new turbo

this is exactly what happened to me before. One day, driving, and suddenly sounded like a police siren sound. it wouldn't change gears on my auto tranny either. I had to drive home slowly. First thing was my stock bov was stuck open so i had it replaced with another one i had that was still working. but the sound was still there. took it to the shop and found that the rubber hose under the intercooler was ripped. so basically, the "police siren" sound is the sound of a big boost leak. I'm pretty sure it isn't ur turbo that is messed up. if it is, ebay is a good place to search.

u asked where is a place to find a turbo, i said ebay. and a tiny hose? how small? the ones on the intercooler and turbo is pretty big so. dunno. replace it and see if it improves. just check all the hoses from the turbo to the intercooler to the intake manifold. i'm almost certain one of them might have a rip or something to cause a boost leak.
