Transmission Issues

Heres the deal my tranny was makin a clunking noise when the engine was runnin my dad thoguht it was a chipped gear or the head bearing in the tranny. The noise stopped when the clutch was pushed in but started again when the clutch was let out. The noise got louder and faster with the engine and rpm level. We dropped the tranny and we need to find some help or a manual of how to dis-assemble it. My dad is a mechanic so hes capable but this tranny is weird. So any advice on where to find a book on it or just advice message back. If ya dont know its a 87' Cherokee Laredo 4WD with a Peugeot ( i think BA10/5) tranny.
