Wasn't the song "Black Betty" sung by Ram Jam in the '70s? I think I have it on one of my cd's just have to find it.
How about: I Want A New Drug- Huey Lewis& The News
I love Rock and Roll- Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Suissudio- Phil Collins
You Spin Me Round- Dead or Alive
Push It - Salt n Pepa
In the Still of the Night- Whitesnake
Love Shack- B52's
Fight For Your Right to Party - Beastie Boys
I Can't Drive 55- Sammy Hagar
Come on Eileen- Dexy's Midnight Runners
Bust a Move- Young MC
Turning Japanese- The Vapors
Supersonic- J J Fad
I Know what Boys Like- The Waitresses
I Feel For You- Chaka Khan
That's just my short list. I have very eclectic tastes when it comes to '80s music, evident to the songs I listed above.I listened to New Wave in the very early '80s while in high school, then more of a mainstream in the mid 80's and then I either listened to hard rock/heavy metal (you know 'the hair bands') all the way to old school hip/hop dance music. I bought a lot of '80s collection cd's off of eBay in the past few years, and got some really great tunes at a good price.

Thanks for the info. I was only familiar w/ Ram Jam's version. Wasn't that song in a movie last year? I was thinking Starsky & Hutch. I don't get to see too many new releases as I wait until it comes out on DVD. I have so many LP's, cassettes, and CD's I can't keep track of everything. I'm looking to get some software to help me organize everything as my collection goes from the 1950's to the present and is probably over 1000 pieces or more, total. BTW I like Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog" , I noticed some of the rock stations in my area are starting to play it more often.

I use the Music Collector software from http://www.collectorz.com/, it works quite well.

BTW, I don't work for them and am not trying to advertise for them, just making a recommendation!

Thanks for that link to that site. I bookmarked it to look at it later. I also am looking at software from PCMag that does the same thing. I want to do a little more research into both before I make a decision. I've looked at eBay once in awhile but don't see anything worthwhile in software for cataloging.

Prince always partied like it was 1999, so what did he actually do in 1999 to party on New Years?

best songs: When Doves Cry and The Beautiful Ones.

and Purple Rain is one of the best albums of all time... its a rare example of a perfect album

ha, that's cool, Highway to hell is prob one of their most rockin' songs, period though, I would include it as well

The entire Back in Black album kicks major Aussie rock ass and had the entire world worshiping them, top rock album!

I love the 80's metal, in particular Preist, 'Tallica, Slayer, Bon Jovi, you name it!
Glam rock wasn't that great, but it has some catchy tunes.
