Help......cant get the heater/defroster/a/c/vent even rear defrost to work none of the buttons on the module do anything.....should i replace that or start somewhere else......

Can't get the blower to run, or can't select any vent position? If no blower, give the housing a whack with a hammer while turned on. If it starts running, there is a dead spot in the blower motor's windings, it will have to be replaced.

If you can't select, or if the blower is running but there doesn't seem to be any air coming out, there is a problem with blockage in the heat/evap core, or the blend door is stuck and directing air to several places all at once, so no strong flow comes from any one position. Sometimes a vacuum leak can cause this, look under the hood and dash for any vacuum lines that are damaged or pulled off.

OH! Check your fuses too.

I was going to suggest fuses too, because mine blows that circuit all the time. When the fuse blows, the vents just get stuck in the last position you had it in before the fuse blew, and the rear defrost just simply won't work.
