I dont know if this was just a weird glitch or something, but dont use Wagner 3057 bulbs for your rear brake lights and running lights. I put one in my car about 3 months ago, and today i had to replace the whole socket cause it melted. The Wires going to it were also somewhat melted and destroyed. Just a warning incase it could turn into something bigger like a fire.

GM has a lot of recalls on brake light socket failures there is an updated bulb # check with local GM parts department. It also helps if you add some dielectric grease to the socket before you install the bulb

I really don't think a differant brand of this bulb is gonna burn hotter than another, unless there is a company that makes halogens in this type bulb and I have yet to see that.

not saying it burned hotter, maybe it was a bad contact with the socket and it was causing an arch? Maybe the metal wasnt a very good grade and heated up instead of transfering?

Have noticed that bulbs aren't American made anymore. Probably a trend of the future. Now we'll start having strange problems with crappy made bulbs.
