I got this today.
Most of you may have got this Email from HLJ today as well, but for those of you that dont there is some good info here to read.

Thank you very much for your business with us in the past months. With the
support of customers like you, we are pleased to report that we were able to
grow our sales in 2001 a stunning 41% over 2000, and more than double our
profits. Who says e-commerce is in a slump? A very heartfelt thank-you
goes out to all our customers!

Of course, we hope you'll continue to support us in 2002, and we've got some
important news that will make it easier to do so. We'd like to let you know
that we've made some important enchancements to our web site in the past
week that we think you should know about.

First, we've solved one of our customers' biggest frustrations over the
years -- the question of how much shipping is going to cost. Up until now,
you could make a rough estimate of your costs based on weights and some
charts on our shipping page, but now virtually every item in our product
database displays an estimate for how much it will cost to ship that item by
both UPS (for US customers) and SAL (for people living outside the US).
What's more, our completely rewritten shipping page (at
http://www.hlj.com/hlj_shipping.html) shows you how to estimate how much
shipping will cost for packages containing more than one item. Take the
guesswork out of budgeting your purchases with us!

Second, although there's no outward change, we've upgraded the hardware
hosting our web site, and we think you'll see response times, especially to
searches and order status inquiries, that are much faster than they used to
be.

Third, we've significantly upgraded our online order status system (at
http://www.hlj.com/cgi-local/status.cgi) in a number of ways:

* Easier-to-read display of important information
* Real-time display of stock status information (previously updated once
per day only)
* Better historical data for orders already shipped, including one-click
links to UPS tracking data (for US customers)

If you have an order in place with us now, give it a try -- we think you'll
agree that this is a much better system than what we had in place.

Of course, I'm never satisfied. We still have a huge number of additional
improvements coming in the weeks and months ahead, including:

* Industry-standard type login/password system
* Direct, real-time web site editing of e-mail addresses, shipping
addresses, payment information, etc.
* Completely redesigned navigation system and product search system
* And a completely new look for the web site!

On the down side, all this development work that we're doing is keeping our
web site team very busy, and we haven't been able to update featured
products on the category pages of our site as frequently as we would like.
But rest assured that the product catalog itself is updated every day, and
you can browse for the latest products at any time using our search engine
as usual.

We're having a lot of fun watching our business grow up. We'd like to thank
you again for the undying support that has made it all possible.

Best regards,

Scott T. Hards
