Today i was driving my car and decided to push it a little hard. Practicing on how to launch. well when i was done i was driving normal for a while. then go on the on ramp to the freeway push it the it sputtered on second while i was pushing it. It tripped me out. went to the side of the road and opened the hood. man it looked like evrything was fine. well tried to get on it and bogged out when i was gonna hit boost. so i cant get past 3.5k without sputtering. I pushed it hard to see and it will get to about 5psi then just sputter hard. i checked the spark plugs and they were fine. the car runs perfectly fine without hitting boost. only sputters when imma about to hit boost. what can it be?

Well you said you checked the plugs, but did you check to see what they are gapped at? What KIND of plugs are you using? Also, did you check your plug wires for any signs of arching? 90% of the time sputtering problems stem from the ignition.

Wires too--check for cracks in the insulation.

If you were running the car hard you couldve douched the plugs. The super rich stock fuel maps could make this more likely. I've had plugs with an afternoons worth of mileage that looked good not run under boost at all. There is nothing you can check (aside from gap, which shouldnt change except on high power cars), you should just replace them. Turbo cars should be changing plugs every 5-10k miles anyway.
Another likely source of trouble is a boost leak. Its not unlikely that you could have blown off an IC pipe (partially perhaps, sometimes its impossible to tell just by looking, since it will only "open up" under pressure) while pracitcing your launch. Do a boost leak test if swapping plugs doesnt help. Also look for vac lines and similar, they can blow off as well and cause a rich condition.

Yup found it. I guess my licp wasnt liking my boost so one of the clamps blew off. it was still in tact but when boost was about to hit the air will leak through the rubber hose.
Well it was yesterday night wich really sucked. i was on the side of the freeway. thinking i blew a spark plug, but then i drove it and saw it only happens when im about to hit boost. I checked it at night and everything looked plugged in right, so i wanted someone else to see it (big mistake).
I was with my friend June which she knew a guy with a 13 sec turboed hatch on slicks. Which he said he used to drive a gst which he said are crap cars. but ok i pop my hood he takes a look at it, and right away he critices my car. Said "why are you recirculating? that is worthless only people who autocross should have it like that, its only to keep your turbo spinning and blah and blah"
(touches and checks my maf) "your boosting too much, these cars are only good up to 14psi, (i have it set at 15) it cant handle anything more than that, your probably boosting like 18 or 20 and your car cant handle it, early detonation you need internals and blah blah blah" then he said (which got me pissed) "im surprised you havent crankwalked your engine" (i was like WTF?) But i couldnt be rude because i asked for him to look at it and i dont want to argue with him since he sort of doing me a favor, (it was like midnight).
At the end he said "just hook your stock boost controller and it should fix it." So it basiclly helped me ZERO. :grinno:
So this morning i looked at it clearly and found it. Thanks guys for replying.

Please don't listen to that dude. You were right not to be rude, though :). And you solved the problem yourself the next day, so you didn't need his help anyway ;).
You now have a turbocharged DSM, be prepared to troubleshoot like this at least once a week :p

yea cant wait for a bigger turbo,
well today i took off all the piping and redid it just in case anything else wants to blow off :p
then went and got some ngk bpr7es, man big difference. The car feels way much smoother and has better response. i love these. I was gonna get some bpr6es but i just got the next colder ones. At first they didnt want to sell them to me because they are excluded in california. they cant be used on public roadways. Plus those weren't for my car the guy said, and blah blah blah. So i went somewhere else and said they were for my dads 1985 audi 5000s turbo quattro race car (which these are made for) For him to race just at the track  lol. and i got them.
