WTF is this noise?

I was starting up my car yesterday and went to put it in reverse when all of a sudden it makes a screeching sound and everything dies. I thought maby I left the ebrake on by accident but thats not it. I try restarting it but the starter just sits there clicking. the engine sounds frozen. I felt truly screwed. anyhow. eventualy the engine gives and starts turning but still no start. I have checked the compression and everything is fine. she has spark. My fuel pressure gauge reads 52psi. theres no shrapnel in the case. the plugs are fine. So what the hell happened. any ideas will be welcome.

Did it make the screeching sound as soon as you put it in gear or after you let the clutch out?

after the clutch was on its way out. I was trying to back up and it just kinda screached and died. then it didnt want to start.

only thing i can think of ,is that its something in the drive-line, and inturn you messed up your motor...

Does anything sound out of place when ya try to start it? Like maybe its turning over way too easy or any other odd noises?

it dosnt sound bad when I try to start it. It spins about normal. I think that this car is cursed. two motors, professional instalation. two water systems. It is a devil car. all I wanted was a little power. Its makin me miss my 77 camero.

Wow, that really sucks... I can't really think of anything it might be if it all sounds normal now... Did ya ask the mechanic who put this last engine in about it?

I think I am gonna go find a stealt rt front clip. v6 tt with two 14b turbos. hmmm

How easily will that engine go into a 2g?
