ever since i blew my transmission in my caprice i have been in a 2.8 chevy camaro....chevys worst engine. recently i FINALLY got my built 350 into my camaro after months of putting it off. i got her in. after a few weeks of going to work and not realy putting my foot more than 2 inches on the petal. i felt it was time to maybe get into the 4 barrels a lil bit.
setting:
10 pm, stop light 4 lane road..
story:
sitting at the light after pulling outa work with open headers cuz getting exuast in a third gen is horrible for ful length headers. a nice lil honda civic runs up next to me, thinkin he can box. i mean cmon 4" cowl on a third gen with open headers...seriously ppl. anyways i couldnt really hear if he was revving his car with the can in back, and i really didnt care it was lated and i was tired. the light took forever and the tension mounted as it always does with imports next to american cars. the light turned green i went casually into the throttle. he/she went full on the throttle. i saw them take off like a rocket and just couldnt pass this up. i have a drag racing shifter set up with a nice turbo 350 tranny and i slammed it down to second whaled the throttle at about 35. cars back end let loose and smoke was pouring off my tires as i was passing a sunoco with a ton of people. the car screamed dragster style and i finally got traction back at about 5200 jsut in time to shift into third and fly past the honda that thought he was king shit like he was standing still. that was my first race with my camaro i bought soo long ago. and i loved every minute of it. makes me proud that i built something like this and it wasnt done for me.

I'm not one for a cowl hood...I'm too much of a "sleeper" guy...but hell, it looks good.
EXCELLENT kill! Kinda makes ya wonder what the other guy/gal was thinking...

Haha, poor Civic. When I had my SiR, I tried to race a built Trans Am that was coming home from a car show. His license plate read "U LOSE". Can anyone guess what the outcome was? :grinno:

Very nice car, I got a friend who has a bored and stroked 350 in his 84 TA, many of the same things as you have as well, except the shifter...and he hates his rear end, he is dying for a new one, because when he gets on it hard, he wont get traction until 4th gear.
And with open headers (he runs without an exhaust quite often as well) his neighbors don't exactly enjoy his early morning departures...

Wow..you guys need to stop trying to rag on the hood..if you're going to rag on anything make it the lack of a paintjob because it's just primered. I myself like the hood...and the primer..looks badass in a redneck sort of way. haha.

AMERICAN BALLS! LOL. (looks out window into driveway)
Your car is a sleeper. Even with that hood..those non showy wheels, lack of Z28 factory body kit, primer paint..Guy probably thought it was a V6 Camaro with a vaccumm leak. (Thats my excuse=lack of V8 emblems on my Thunderbird.)

thanks, even if by small chance u think the hood is ugly or whatever even tho i dont know how u can think its ugly it like it. anywas the motor comes up to about 1/2 inch under that hood so the 4" wasnt a choice. and thats with a low profile filter. but thanks i was kinda proud of my first kill.
and btw thats a real flat black paint not primer..

ur balls what im serious its real paint..unless ur talking about the motor which i can hook u up with a pic if u want..but in either case primer or not i get a good amount of compliments so i never wanna paint it a real flashy color...no need.
