sunroof motor

I am trying to repair the sunroof on a 1999 range rover.

can someone tell me if the sunroof gear mechanism is repairable or is this a sealed unit?

The motor works fine but the gear will not turn the threaded two bars that operate the arms that push to open the sunroof. Thank you
