Spiral Wound Spark Plug Wires?

I have an MSD coil and 6A igniton box it says that you should use Heilcal Core spark plug wires to prevent spark cross over. Would this be the same as Spiral Wound wires made by another conpany? And what would you guys sugest as for wires as far as price and quality the reason I ask is I don't want to spen more than $50.

Generally speaking, all plug wires are designed to prevent spark energy jumping from one wire to another. I suspect the age, condition and routing of the wires are more important than the names that the marketing people have used to promote the product.

Generally, go with a decent well - known name brand. Be SURE to route them properly so no two wires touch each other, and are spaced apart as far as is practical. Use plastic wire supports and separators (not metal ones)

I was just wondering becasue it says not to use solid core wires with the MSD stuff I have. So I guess that any spiral wound performace wire should work fine. All I wanted to know if spiral wound wires are the same as helical core wires.

Solid core wires are different than most modern wires. If your wires say radio supression or electronic ignition, they are not solid core wires.
Solid core wires are for use by points-type ignitions only. They have little or no resistance and therefore broadcast radio interference. They are rarely used these days. If you use them with an electronic ignition, the spark plugs will receive too much voltage and will wear out and erode prematurely. Also they will interfere with every police car and ambulance radio around you.

Supression wires have an electrical resistance of about 1000 ohms per foot of wire.

They work great, and at almost 9 MM, look good too. I picked up my set on ebay for around 40 bucks and they were brand new.
