new subwoofer question

I am 16 and just got a 2001 black explorer sport. I personally like the feeling of the thump of the subs. The stock sub just isnt cutting it for me. I really wanna replace it but dont really wanna loose my trunk space. I know that mtx has an enclosure that goes into the stock spot, but it seems that it cant hold too many watts, and the sub that comes with it is the bottom of the line. I am wondering if anyone has this sub and whether or not u can put a different subwoofer in it from a different brand, say audiobahn or jl audio. Also is there any other way that i can put a 10" or 12" sub in my trunk w/o taking up too much space.

If anyone has any pics of the stuff above, or the subs in their explorer i would love to see them. Thx

I have a JL Audio Stealthbox with a JL Audio 10 inch sub (10W1) in my 98 Explorer hooked up to an Alpine 5 channel amp (MRV-F450). All the retail car audio shops wanted $300-400 dollars for the stealthbox (without a sub). I bought mine off of Ebay from a private seller for $200 and he sent me his extra brand new JL Audio sub (10W1) along with the one already installed in the box. The installation was pretty easy and it absolutely thumps for a 10 inch sub. I plan on adding a dedicated amp and upgrading the the subwoofer to a JL Audio 10W3v2 in the springtime.

When I was at the car stereo store looking at the stealthboxes, i saw the MTX box and I thought it was a low grade box, cheap light weight plastic. The JL Audio box is made of molded fiberglass and very well made.
